Because no one knows when the fuck to put them on. You drive a beige/silver/black car and there is a cloud of mist behind your car. You are invisible. This is the one time that's not cool.

I turn my headlights on everytime I start the car. It is a bright silver paint job and I turn lights on even on sunny days. Is this stupid of me?

You can still turn them off. It's just a light switch option.

If your car does not have DRL's, it's a very good idea, silver cars are very hard to see sometimes on overcast and cloudy days.
